Purchase source verified, vine ripe citrus from McAllen, TX grown on the farm of John Pawlik.  The oranges are Valencia oranges with seeds.  The grapefruit variety is Rio Star.  The citrus will be delivered at cost by Schak Trucking of Tyler, MN.  Proceeds will go to benefit the South African Companion Partners of the Glacial Ridge, Prairie, Scenic Valley, and Shetek conferences of the Southwestern Minnesota Synod.  Sales end January 31st.  Citrus will be delivered in February.

The net proceeds sold by the Glacial Ridge Conference will go to partners in the Eshowe Circuit of the Southeastern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Africa.

  • Is 20 pounds of citrus too much for you?  Split a box with a friend!
  • Don’t want to eat any oranges?  Enter in the blank an amount to give!

For the past 30+ years, the Sunday morning first service has been broadcast, both by television and radio. I have been part of this ministry for most of those 30 years. As we are all aware, it gets harder and harder to find volunteers in all
areas of the church. I feel fortunate to have had several great volunteers over the years to help with this Sunday morning ministry. However, to keep this ministry going, more volunteers are needed. Currently, one family has agreed to help record on the second Sunday of each month. That leaves three other Sundays and some months four Sundays that need to be covered.

Just to inform you of how the program works...volunteers are needed to run the camera each Sunday morning. The camera volunteer recordsthe service by using a camcorder. When the service is done, a second volunteer takes the audio cassette and drops it off at the radio station. The DVD is brought to the Senior High School where the local cable access is located. The DVD is programmed into the equipment to run the allotted one hour for the service. Currently we are in need of volunteers to run the church camera, which is the first segment of the Sunday broadcast process. Training will be provided.

I'm sure over the years, most of the congregation members at one time or another have either listened to KBMO or watched the local TV channel 8 on Sunday morning. Shut-ins, those that are homebound due to an illness and those in assisted living homes, depend on this outreach and count on it each Sunday. Please consider volunteering to keep this ministry going at Our
Redeemers. We need people (from high school through Senior Citizens) to come forward now, so they can be trained in and be ready to start in September. Please leave your name and phone number in the church office if you are able to help out. Or contact me, Julie Urke
at 320-843-4498.
Thank you

Graduate Recognition Sunday and Confirmation - May 19

May 19 is a busy day at Our Redeemer's! Not only is it Pentecost Sunday, but we will be celebrating the gift of our younger members and sending them out into the community and the world. Please join us for worship!

8:30 AM - Graduate Recognition Sunday.
As graduating seniors prepare to take their next step in life, our church community gathers around to bless them on their way and send them with our love. Please join us as we wish our younger members well and send them to whatever lies ahead. Graduates will help lead us in worship, and we will bless the gift of quilts which they will take with them to remind them of the warm embrace of God our Father and their congregation. Following the service, graduates, families and the community are invited to a reception and gift presentation in the fellowship hall.

10:30 AM - Confirmation
At our baptism, we each receive God's promise of grace. In the Affirmation of Baptism (also called "Confirmation"), our 9th grade students will hear these promises again and make promises of their own, committing themselves to God and their faith. This is a celebration of the Church as much as it is for these students' families. Please come worship with us as we renew our promises to these brothers and sisters in Christ.

Monroe Crossing comes to Benson

Bluegrass gospel band Monroe Crossing is coming to Benson! Thursday, March 21 at 7pm they will be playing at the Junior High Auditorium. Tickets are available at Benson churches, Breen's Thrifty White Drug and Clarks' Rexall Drug. Cost for tickets is $25 for families, $8 for adults ($10 at the door), and $5 for children under 12.

Named in honor of Bill Monroe, Monroe Crossing dazzles audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and heartfelt originals. Their airtight harmonies, razor sharp arrangements, and on-stage rapport make them audience favorites across the United States and Canada.

Since the year 2000, Monroe Crossing has released 11 CDs and a live concert DVD and has made over 1250 concert appearances throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. The secret to the band’s longevity and success? According to fiddler and lead singer Lisa Fuglie, “It’s just plain hard work and dedication. We all share a love for bluegrass music and for performing on stage. We appreciate every audience, large or small, and understand that we’re there for them, not the other way around.”

In 2007, they were selected as an Official Showcase Band at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass Convention in Nashville, and later that year, they were inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame.

See Monroe Crossing’s recordings, schedule and booking information on the band’s website: www.monroecrossing.com
