Faith needs care to grow. When we are baptized, our parents promise to "place in our hands the holy scriptures, and to teach [us] the Lord's prayer, the Creed and the ten commandments." (From the Order for Baptism, Evangelical Lutheran Worship p. 229) As we grow, our faith grows with us. Here at Our Redeemer's we are committed to helping you and your family grow in faith in Christ throughout your entire life.

Confirmation is a life-long process: it begins at birth and ends only in death. It is the ongoing process of deepening our faith, learning about the scriptures, and enriching our relationship with God. This work is never completed, and every Christian is expected to continually work towards these things.
The Rite of Confirmation (or Affirmation of Baptism) occurs when young men and women who have been baptized as infants make the promises for themselves which their parents made for them at their baptism:
to live among God's faithful people
to hear the word of God and share in the Lord's supper
to proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed
to serve all people, following the example of Jesus
to strive for justice and peace in all the earth
In order to help prepare these young women and men to make these promises and assist their parents in keeping the promises which they made at their child's baptism, Our Redeemer's offers confirmation classes for students in 7th-10th grade. We celebrate the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism on the last Sunday in October (which is also Reformation Sunday). This celebration is a time for the community of all the saints to welcome the confirmands (those being confirmed) as full members.
The last Sunday in October is Confirmation Sunday where the youth have an opportunity to affirm their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in a public setting.
Adult Education
Adult education includes a number of Bible studies, forums, and learning opportunities throughout the year, which are listed on our small groups page. We encourage everyone to have a personal time of daily devotions, including Bible study and prayer.
